Party before the Hope Opener
Has anyone heard of any concerts prior to the Steelers/Dolphins Home Opener?? I think last year there was a band in New England playing on the field before the game.

In Pittsburgh they don't need bands on the field before the game. No one shows up anyway, they're all in the parking lot doing what every faithful BnG'er should be doing - TAILGATING!

After talking to a few football friends, we remember that Bon Jovi opened up before the home opener in Foxborough last year, but apparently no one has heard anything.

I think they a retalking about big name bands. There usually always is a Steeler Band playing the lot once in awhile.

I was just looking at an article dated from Feb, and it was talking about the last two Thursday opener, had bands open for them. Two years ago it was Elton John, last year it was Green Day and Ozzy. It also said that people come to expect it now. Lets hope the same continues this year.

• Country music singer Martina McBride will perform the national anthem prior to the Steelers' season opener Sept. 7 at Heinz Field against the Miami Dolphins. Rascal Flatts also will perform from the field. Performing from Miami in the NFL kickoff event will be Diddy and Cassie.
