hmmm...how many times has the defense won games for the steelers in the last 20 years? the defense has been pretty much consistent, in a positive manner, over the last 20 or so years.

i know, why doesn't the offense score some points instead of relying on the defense to carry them?

Isn't this the same guy that wanted Bill Cowher fired?

He's not intelligent enough to write something worth reading...so he just writes anything controversial to get a reaction.

Last I checked, offenses were graded by the points they score. Now if we had the Browns talent on the offensive side of the ball, I'd have no issue with the points we scored... in reality we are loaded with talent. We should expect top 10 in scoring.

We're kind of shoving Art Ronney firing Arians as opposed to Tomlin under the rug. To me this speaks volumes to how he thinks of his head coach's judgment. Not only did Art disagree with Tomlin in wanting to keep Arians for another year, but he overruled his motion to bring him back. To me it sounds like Art is starting to get annoyed by our coaching.

He can't shove anything up his arse. Madden's own head is in the way.

Possible. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, and if Tomlin decides just to count the days until his contract is up, or if he gathers himself and moves forward. If the next OC is lights out, the point will be moot, I would guess.

I think it's safe to say, for the sake ofTomlins career, hiring an offensive coordinator, could be one of the biggest decisions he'll ever make

Right, and I think that's the message. "Start acting like you want to win, or update your resume." Just because it's been 42 years since the Steelers fired a HC, doesn't mean it's written in stone that they won't. They used to do it all the time. Patience and unwillingness are two entirely different things. I don't know, but I imagine that Tomlin is walking the line between the two at this moment. He DID refuse to take action on a direct order from the top, and it cost them a SB win and a SB appearance. That is rarely tolerated in business. Tomlin himself made a variation of the same statement, "We greatly appreciate what you did for the organization, but we feel it is time to move in a different direction." If the private conversation with the firee is followed with, "I'll have security help you pack your things," the part about appreciation is BS. Wanna bet Arians had help packing?

The BIG issue that doesn't get brought up too much, is fact that Big Ben gets killed on a regular basis.

I'm guessing a big reason the Rooney's wanted to see more running was because they want their franchise QB protected. Under Arians Ben was always near the top of the league in sacks. I'm willing to bet no QB was sacked more then Ben over the past 5 years. We all know Ben's style of play...it leads to sacks. But it is the OC's job to at least reduce that number. As the OC you are the boss. You have to adjust your plays to keep the sack totals down. 5 step drops 50x per game w/ deep routes isn't helping. Arians attempt to reduce the sacks was us running bubble screens 5x per game.

I'm sure Arians was told to protect Ben more and reduce the hits he's taking... it never happened. Arians was also told to improve the running game...it never happened. Arians was told to be more efficient...it never happened. I'm sure the FO expected an improvement in points scored....it never happened.... it went backwards. This was the theme going all the way back to when Arians was hired. I think 5 years is plenty of time to show some improvement... it never happened. Arians should have been fired last season. If our boss tells us to do something and we ignore it for 5 years...expect to be fired.
