This is how I viewed the whole deal.No problem with the Boss doing what he felt he had to do, its just after Tomlin said All Coaches were coming back he stepped in . Either Tomlin overstepped his authority or Rooney led him to believe it was his call. Once again either way not enough communication between the two.

I'm afraid you're going to be in the minority on this one, seeing as a wide majority of fans didn't mind seeing him go. Certain things about someone stick in your memory, and Arians had the unfortunate knack of calling some really holy abortions of a play on numerous occasions. Throw in one drama-inducing, inept OC in Arians and Tomlin's father dying and its just not a good time right now

Cowher was supposedly run right out of Pittsburgh on multiple occasions - 1 issue was personal, 1 was Kordell Stewart, and the other was about not securing the big game Ws time after time after time

Rooney simply said what most of our fans wanted to say. Hop many of us are frustrated during the season. We watched Ben holding balls a little too long and taking unnecessary sacks, saw those unreasonable long passes, and of course the stats that Ben is consistently among the most sacked QBs. Rooney made a suggestion at the end of 2009 season that he would prefer more running, but that has not happened this season.
The play callings were mostly dictated by Ben and Arains, Tomlin has not been stood on his own. I can't blame Rooney for standing up to Ben and Bruce and demanding some changes. Someone suggested on this on the board: Owners Own; Coaches Coach; Players Play. I agree but, part of owning a team is to make sure your team is on the right track. If, for some reasons, coaches are not capable of making certains calls, owners step in. what is wrong with that?
