OK, let's have a little fun.
Say the Steelers are planning to construct a "Steelers Mt. Rushmore." Let's limit it to 5 "figureheads." What 5 Steeler figures of all time do you want depicted on it? Here are mine in no particular order: Noll - the original architect of the blueprint for football greatness Greene - Noll picked him first, that says it all Bradshaw - 4X SB quarterback has to be on it despite early difficulties Lambert - I'm biased here I admit, but he was the "Face of the Steelers" Hines - my toughest selection, all-time WR record holder, 2X SB champ When I listed all of the names in contention, it's a daunting task to pick 5. Let the debate begin!

Art Rooney
Noll Greene Bradshaw Mel Blount Lambert was more widely known but Blount was so pivotal back there for such a long time the first four are practical locks if you know anything about the steelers These guys epitomized what Steeler football is all about Honorable Mention (in no order) Rocky Blier: pure heart Greg Lloyd: If he would of played 5 more years at the high level before his knee injury Hines Ward Franco - ran out of bounds in a time when you didnt - his toughness might come into question also Jack Ham |

I think it depends on the theme you are going with....
Mt Rushmore has 4 heads Leaders: The Chief Coach Noll Coach Cowher Coach Lebeau The Players: Jack Lambert Mean Joe Green Rod Woodson Terry Bradshaw Best players / worst people: Plaxico Burress Santonio Holmes Greg Lloyd Ben Roethlisberger My personal "steeler" hero's" Mike Webster Rod Woodson Hines Ward Jack Lambert It's just not fair to list only 4 or even 5. There are so many great names of the steelers nation. To leave on of them off it would discount the value they had to the steeler nation. You could argue any one of these guys deserves to be on a steeler monument. Myron Cope Bill Cowher Chuck Noll The Chief Jack Lambert Franco Harris Terry Bradshaw Rocky Bleier Donnie Shell Dick Lebeau Jerome Bettis Hines Ward Rod Woodson Mike Webster Troy Polomalu John Stallworth Greg Lloyd Lynn Swann Luis Lipps John Henry Johnson Jack Butler Greg Lloyd Mel Blount L.C. Greenwood Jack Ham James Harrison Ben Roethlisberger Last edited by madtowndrunkard; 02-19-2012 at 08:18 PM. |

Most everyone goes with the older guys and I get that to.. but I will say this... I think we are watching the greatest player to ever strap them up if you look at on and off the field... Troy P
1. Art Rooney 2. Dan Rooney 3 Troy P 4. Bradshaw 5. Joe Green ( this is the guy that really started it all and the reason the Steeler know how the Rooneys want them to act.. in his famous words to Rod Woodson ( We dont do that Shit here son ) Rods Answer " Yes Sir " |
