it didn't start as Manning "demanding" anything or $90 million. Sources say that teams just started offering in the stratosphere. He's not playing hijack type of games that Drew Brees is doing.
You may not say he deserves that much, but the 3 teams in the race are just offering the moon by themselves. Manning hasn't had to do anything. |

manning, moss, and wallace on the 49ers could be scary as hell. they still have gore and probably the nfl's best defense
if they make a move for both manning and wallace it's obvious they're shooting for championship in 2012 or bust but about alex smith, lol, he had a a lucky year and everyone knows that. if you have an option to offer alex smith a big contract, or use that money to hire peyton manning, you take manning every time. |

The contract was on the table the whole time... Alex turned it down, what were 49ers supposed to do? Just sit there. No like every other team out there they started testing the market, just like any player would do if they were worried about not getting signed.
