With the cuts we've made, MoneyHungry Mike pricing himself out of free agency and the comp picks determined, this is what I see:
1. Alabama ILB Dont'a Hightower - I know an obvios pick but a definate need with how thin we are here! 2. Iowa State G Kelechi Osemele - can play RT also but his is a mauler in the run game! 3. Miami(OH) RG Brandon Brooks Miami - the more I see about him the more I like and this could shore up the interior for years to come!!! 4. Utah State RB Robert Turbin - Turbin is a sleeper prospect who has some speed and is extremely strong. 5. Northwestern TE Drake Dunsmore - versitile player with good hands... 6. Michigan WR Junior Hemingway - great hands and we still don't know who we have after Sanders... 7. Oregon State FB Joe Halahuni - Let the running game return!!! comp1. Texas A&M K Randy Bullock - voted best kicker in college this year.... comp2. South Carolina St FS Christian Thompson - big kid at 6' 211 lbs with excellent speed! Would love to grab him... comp3. TCU CB/KR Greg McCoy - kid has speed to burn!!! Tear it up!

this is an awful lot of offense (i dont think osemele will be there in the late 2nd)
D-Line will be addressed in there one way or another even if hood plays some downs at the nose they need more depth since hampton & mcclendon are all we have inside + no one knows how the coaching staff feels about al woods at DE or as a pivot otherwise i like brooks and junior hemingway... |

I like it. Probably would go Chapman over Turbin if he's there in the 4th, since I feel at worst we need a backup at NT. Hit on our needs, and guess I don't see RB as being as big a need. But especially like your comp picks.

If Osemele isn't there in the 2nd that is where I'd try and get NT Alameda Ta'amu or even Chapman if he is healthy enough! I'm just tired of seeing Ben on his ass!!!

I think that there will be some good o-linemen available there. Not holding out hope for Zietler, but Massie, Brooks (I know you took him in the third, but he may not make it that far, and I like this kid), Sanders, Mitchell Schwartz should all be around. I could see drafting a true tackle and letting Colon slide back into guard.

Lots of good stuff said here. I like the thought of Hebron Fangopu-BYU at NT in the 4th if the first 3 rounds shake out that way.
I also like Mitchell Schwartz, but probably will be a 3rd round RT prospect. If we are able to get Osemele in the 2nd, then he is probably a Guard that will kick out to RT if Colon doesnt return to form or becomes a cap casualty in 2013. Devier Posey WR from OSU is another name to keep in mind as Haley personally worked him out at their pro day.

at minimum they need a pair of interior lineman who can push to start now or within a season. theyre gonna have some high expectations to meet but luckily i think any pair of guards from rounds 1-5 will perform better than the combos we put out there last season. |

With 2 Second round picks (or one late 1st and a 2nd) and 2 Third round picks, the Steelers could find a mix of talent like Ta'Amu-NT, Osemele-OG/OG, Isiah Pead-RB and James Michael Johnson-LB......with their first 4 picks. Then can package their 4th and 7th to move up and get somebody they might like, such as Philip Blake in the 4th. and still have all their compensatory picks. Speculation of course, but with the depth of OG talent, I think they can trade back and get more young talent if the guy they want at #24 isnt there.
