IMAGINE, free agants signed by everyone else have changed some priorities.... but of course not ours since our organization is the Steelers!!! We still have BigMoney17 but Cotch is gone and Rashard is ruled out for the season:
1. Kelechi Osemele - OG - Iowa State 2. Lamar Miller - RB - Miami (Fla.) 3. Trenton Robinson - FS - Michigan State 4. Nick Jean-Baptiste - NT - Baylor 5. Vontaze Burfict - ILB - Arizona State 6. Greg Childs - WR - Arkansas 7. Ryan Lindley - QB - San Diego State 7. Randy Bullock - K - Texas A&M

Personal opinion is that if Osemele is the BPA at #24, we should trade down and try to at least get a 2nd and 3rd for him. I find it hard to believe that all of the following will be gone when we pick there: Martin, DeCastro, Glenn, Adams, Konz, Hightower, Keuchly, Upshaw, Poe, Barron, Kirkpatrick, and Jenkins. Can't say that I would prefer them all, just that I feel they are all much better value than Osemele at #24.
Lamar Miller in 2? Eh, guess we could argue about how much we need another running back. IMO we don't need one that badly, but I guess thats up to the drafters. Could deal with Robinson, Baptiste, and Childs where you have them. Not really sure what I think about Burflict at any point in the draft, but 5th would be the absolute earliest that I'd take him. |

Idk about Osemele. But i dont think Miller will be there in the 2nd. Even if he falls he is not going to fall to 56. I would like to see a FB rather than a QB. QB is not a position of need. Troy Smith and Jerrod Johnson will be sufficient. Drafting a QB that late practically always ends in a practice squad player or instant release before the season. At least a FB has a good chance at making the team.

Yeah you could trade down deep into the 2nd round if you want Kelechi Osemele and he is not an ideal Left Guard for the Steelers if their looking for someone to pull. RT, RG for sure but Zeitler, Silatolu, Brooks, all would be better pulling LGs.
Lamaar Miller would be awesome and we could say goodbye to Mendy with no regrets. He won't be there though. Baptiste's pro day is today and there has been no pub on this guy at all and no combine invite. He could be the steal of the century as he is only predicted to go in the 7th or be a UDFA. 4th round is about right to not take any chances losing him if the Steelers really like him. 5th round for Burfect isn't much of a risk. Greg Childs is way up the draft boards. With that speed of his and size there is no way he is there in the 6th, 5th and by the time the Steelers pick 4th. I love the guy but we would have to draft him in the 3rd if we want him. I think he is worth it in the 3rd. I see you sticking by Ryan Lindley, but you know close to 50% completion percentage at a small school against small competition? I really ruled out a QB completely for the Steelers but who knows they may just pick one if their planning on moving away from Batch and Lefty. |

I agree with Magyar on just about everything he said. I like Osemele with a #2 but a first round pick is a good 10-15 position reach and that's not what I like to see in the first 3 rounds.

Jean-Baptiste is something of a Steelers-mock wild card. Just plug him in at any old round. I've seen him mocked as early as the second round (someone smoking crack) and as late as the seventh (same person probably, dropping meth.) His presence fixes everyone's mock somehow.

Yeah, but I havent seen anything lately on any workouts, post season combine buzz or nothing. 3 months ago around college bowl season I was seeing him ranked as a 7th rounder or UDFA.
I was expecting to hear something about him from Baylor pro day workout, but havent heard a thing.
