Does Herron have a chance to make the team? - Page 2

With the surplus of TE's now, I see Herron as a replacement for cushing. He was our backup full back as well as a TE. I think the addition of Miller and Herron (if he can prove himself) will leave the door open for cushing to be cut.

I still don`t see him being anymore than a practice squad player, unless injuries kill us. :o

B2W he did play as a FB, i have read it and have seen him play FB. ill try to see if i can dig the article up, but trust me on rookies, i scout more then some teams hehe.

Yeah, he can double as a full back, which is one of the things that the coaches liked about him when they drafted him. That will help his cause ALOT!

You are gonna lose this debate. He said it himself.....What more do you want. I know plenty about college football. He was a TB at Northwestern, and has never been a lead blocker. In fact, Northwestern runs a spread offense that is usually single-back 3 or 4 wide-outs. Really, there is not a FB at Northwestern......only on short yardage.

He does have the size, and he most likely can play FB, and that is part of the reason they drafted him, but he has not played FB before. He says it himself, plus there is not a FB in Northwestern's offense. They run the single-back spread with 3 or 4 WR's

?I think this is really just getting back to my natural running style,? said Herron. ?For me it took a long time to learn how to be in the spread offense. This is great being back to this pro-style offense. That?s what I ran in high school. It took about two years to really have an understanding for the spread offense. It?s so much different than the I-formation. I am happy to be back in the pro-style offense.?

FBs mostly block anywayz as long as hes a good blocker and average ball handler he should be good.
