I'll tell you who is most dispensable... Nate Washington...
To answer the question, though, it has to be Troy. Not to take away from Ben, but I can think of other QBs who could run this offense just as well (if not better). I can't do the same at the Strong Safety position.

My vote would be for Ben.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is the Steelers best player , but I believe him to be the most important. The Steelers have had great defensive units through alot of their recent history - but it wasn't until they brought on board a QB capable of doing what was required to win in the clutch that they actually got the ring. If Troy got injured, it would mean some reshuffling in the DB's - if Ben went down it would probably mean a whole new philosophy on offense. QB is by far the most important position on the team.

They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless. The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed. |

I think it is Troy Polamalu hands down. I think that regardless of what the "experts" at espn, fox, cbs might think, Troy is among the 5 best defensive players in the NFL.
