I just got through watching Neil Rackers the kicker from the Arizona Cardnals kick 4 kicks hitting the left goal post 2 times and also the right side just like he said he would.. that was a pretty Awesome feat in my opinion..
My question is.. if it really matters... If you were in the Super Bowl and with :02 left and you needed a 43 (troy) yard FG.. who would you want and why? Not Vanderjact.. I guarentee you that for me... I would chose Adam Vineteri.. he is the Best clutch kicker I have ever seen... Gary Anderson was also considered.. God Bless Elvis |

Adam Vinatieri, no question about it. After that, I would say Neil Rackers or Matt Stover.

I would go with Jeff Reed (if not kicking towards the open end at HF - LOL! He was a clutch kicker when he needed to be last season), Rackers and Vinatieri (agree with your overall assessment, but he missed 2 in the 40-49 range last season, very Un-Vinatieri-like)
I call it as I see it - Shayne Graham is a pretty darned good clutch kicker, too.

Thats a real tough question.
Adam V. is the best kicker to play the game - the amount of clutch kicks he has made in the playoffs will likely not be beaten. My personal favorite was the 45 yard kick to tie against Oakland in 2001- it was a superhuman effort because the ball was frozen solid. There is not much doubt in my mind that Adams powers are waning - but no-one else springs to mind as a 'clutch' kicker. Rackers is the most talented kicker in the league, but if it was from inside 40 i'd go with Adam. NM |

You know I said that I would also consider Gary Anderson the long ago kicker for the Steelers and Vikings and others.. He was not really liked by his team mates anywhere he played and I have changed my mind about considering him because in the only big time chance he had that I remember was with the Vikings I believe against the Falcons that year in the NFC Tittle and he had Not Missed All Year til THEN... Not too good under pressure huh....?
God Bless Elvis |

I'd have to stick with J. Reed. He's been true when given the opportunity to perform.
