Default Tony Stewert.

What are your thoughts on the Tony Stewart incident. I feel bad for the family of the young man that was killed, but why on earth do these guys get out of their vehicles and try to confront people in moving vehicles. It is just a sad situation.

hard to imagine what was going through his head. If i killed somebody in a race, i'd probably never drive again.

Sad situation, and not Tony's fault at all. He did all he could do to avoid him given the circumstances.

I'm a big dirt track fan. I've walked Lernerville after the races more times than I can count. I watched the video about two or three times looking at what happened, and don't want to it again. That kid was just plain stupid. He had to know that Tony probably couldn't see him, and that you don't just stop a sprint car and he still put himself in the path of the wheels of a sprint car under power, because of rage and testosterone. There really was no other possible outcome.

Kevin Ward Jr. has been submitted to the Darwin Award committee, multiple times. Sorry, but it's not surprising.

I imagine this kind of thing happens more than we know, (maybe not to the extent of death), but since this incident involved a Nascar champion it made national news. Like I sad, this a a sad and tragic incident, but the bottom line is, stay in your Damn car until notified by track officials, ( unless the car is on fire or something of that nature ).

I'm not so sure it does. Most drivers aren't stupid enough to actually jump into the path of these cars. They know how hard they are to control even at caution flag speeds. This guy had to have known too, but his temper and the desire to make a name for himself exceeded his intellect. He will certainly be more famous now than his driving skills could have ever made him. I guess he got what he was after. Unfortunately, his fame will cost others dearly too.

Tony got a standing ovation at Atlanta. Just goes to show that true racing fans know that Tony didn't kill Ward intentionally because the fans, and the other drivers would be the first to tear him down if he had done something intentionally wrong.
