I think Limas Sweed is just going to have to drop football...

i can't believe this guy failed. Its unbelieveable. All that potential.....and nothing. Looking back in hindsight, the Steelers should have stayed away as other teams did. Easy to say now, though.
Even after we knew he'd fail, i still thought he'd get it together. I don't understand all the dropping of the passes. It just goes to show you anyone can be a bust.
All of the fans in the NFL think their first 4 picks or so this year are going to be starters and stars for years to come. But the truth is, many won't do s***.

this guy was a disaster, so much talent and he couldn't just hold on to the damn ball. a shame really.

i can't blame the steeler fans for being hard on him though, considering that one of his drops lost us a big game vs cincy, and his faked injury after a drop could have cost us a playoff game

It seemed like such a good selection at the time because we needed a tall receiver badly that year. And our depth wasn't good- Hines, Nate Washington, and I think Cedric Wilson may have still been with the team. We've gotten better though with our scouting of receivers since then. Wallace and Brown are home run picks at this point and I think Sanders will look good if he can stay healthy. Sweed is just another bust. It happens to each team. Hoping that Toney Clemons can emerge as a tall target. Rooting for that kid especially since he's living the dream playing for his hometown team.

Man, what a sad story. He had his entire future in his own hands - and that was the problem.

I just hope he doesn't go the Ryan Leaf route and start getting himself into trouble.
