Default Executive Privilege claim implies White House cover-up

On the heels of President Obama's decision to shield Department of Justice documents under the doctrine of executive privilege, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner wondered if White House officials were being involved in a cover-up

"Until now, everyone believed that the decisions regarding ‘Fast and Furious’ were confined to the Department of Justice," Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck said in a statement.

"The White House decision to invoke executive privilege implies that White House officials were either involved in the ‘Fast and Furious’ operation or the cover-up that followed. The Administration has always insisted that wasn't the case. Were they lying, or are they now bending the law to hide the truth?” Buck said.

Barack Obama, January 21, 2009:

"The way to make government responsible is to hold it accountable. The way to make government accountable is to make it transparent, so the American people can know exactly what decisions are being made"

This implies that obaaama knew about it or possibly is the one that gave the green light with the go ahead on the plan.

It's a cowards move.

I feel sorry for the family of the border agent family not able to get any real answers.

In 3...2...1.....it's Bush's fault.

Other than the assertions of noted constitutional scholar Brendan Buck, how does the assertion of executive privilege lead to that implication

Because I said so.

I just get the feeling he's trying to cover his tracks or his knowledge of what was happening.

House panel votes 23-17 to place Holder in contempt of Congress

"Until now, everyone believed that the decisions regarding Fast and Furious were confined to the Department of Justice,” Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement. “The White House decision to invoke executive privilege implies that White House officials were either involved in the Fast and Furious operation or the cover-up that followed. The administration has always insisted that wasn't the case. Were they lying, or are they now bending the law to hide the truth?”

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) garnered the support of 114 Republicans for a separate resolution that would express Congress’s lack of confidence in Holder and essentially call for him to step down because of how he has handled the operation.

I only have one question

"What did the President know, and when did he know it?" (Nixon)

Holder retracts claim Bush team knew about Fast and Furious

In a second major retraction over its version of the the gun-walking scandal, the Justice Department has retracted Attorney General Eric Holder's charge in a hearing last week that his Bush administration predecessor had been briefed on the affair.

The best thing that crooked ass Holder could do FOR the country right now is step down and get out of the way.

no no no!

I don't want him to resign - - let the scandal cover the airwaves all the way to election day!

the Brit tabloids have picked up on it now...

The Fast And Furious Scandal Is Turning Into President Obama's Watergate

Obama is repeating many of the mistakes that led to Nixon's resignation in 1974

Fast and furious hasn’t been discussed a lot in the mainstream media, which is why the facts can seem so preposterous when you read them for the first time. But the story is slowly unraveling and the public is catching up with the madness

Why ? So that we can replace a bunch of crooks and liars that call themselves Democrat's with a bunch of crooks and liars that call themselves Republicans ?

Won't matter much who's Pres. anyway cause if Obama wins, the House is gonna block all the Dem's bills (like they've been doing). If Romney wins, the Senate is gonna give 'payback' by shooting down whatever the Repub's bring. ...stalemate...
