Here is what will happen. Wallace signs his one year tender just before the start of the season. He then pulls a hammy (they always do when they miss so much camp) and is on the shelf for at least a month, is slow to adjust to the new offense and becomes largely a non factor like he did down the stretch last year.

IMHO, The only way Wallace hurts us is if he gets signed to a contending AFC team. By that I mean Ravens, Patriots, and down the line. There is no way he can hurt "us" this season - he can only add to a dynamic stable.

Would the Steelers benefit from what he brings to the table? Absolutely. But c'mon - Who did the Patriots have at WR after Welker? Deon Branch? That is why they relied so heavily on their hybrid TE/WRs. Who did the Ravens have? Boldin and Smith? When are we going to tie our beloved team's fate to a WR?

Let me remind you of previous winning SB lineups
XL - Ward, El, Wilson
XLIII, Holmes, Ward, Washington

As we've discussed, Washington was the only real deep threat out of those two groups, and IMHO, he is not on Wallace's level, although, he was underrated

If Haley can help the Cardinals have 3 1000 yard receivers en route to almost upsetting us in XLIII, and then take a mediocre at best Chiefs team and win the division with mediocre talent - I have all the faith in the world in what this offense can do. I'm pissed at Wallace like many Steeler faithful, but let's rally behind the guys that are committed
