This actually was posted a few weeks ago, having a hard time locating it though.

This was posted a while back, but more people will see it in it's own thread. I'm pretty sure it was posted within another threads. Anyhow, thanks! Great read. I think we'll finish better than 10-6, though.

CBS thinks both the Steelers and Bengals will go 10-6, but the Bengals will win the division over tie-breakers.

I suppose 10-6 is a fair assessment for someone who doesn't avidly follow the Steelers (they have their hands full with 31 other teams too). Losing due to tie breakers to the Bengals is highly unlikely. I'm confident we will beat the Ravens twice, I think they have lost a lot this off season while we have gained a lot. Ray is pretty damn old for a LB, Reed is older, and Boldin is starting to age too on top of their losses. I also don't see us losing to the Bengals and I don't see the Bengals beating the Ravens twice. Other then against the Browns, I only see the Bengals getting 1 division win, and that won't be good enough for a tie breaker.

Overall, for someone who has followed the Steelers closely and have seen each player (even 2nd and 3rd string) perform and/or develop, I don't see how you could come up with 10-6. Our schedule as it stands is not as tough as some make it out to be. Many of the teams on there that are labeled "tough" will have an extremely difficult time beating us due to the struggles they will likely have i.e. Jets, Eagles, Chargers, and Cowboys. All those games sound tough and sound like they will be "good games", but I'm not sure. I see the Jets falling apart, the Eagles doing slightly better which is nowhere near enough, the Chargers struggling as usual and losing to Peyton twice, and the Cowboys breaking down by that time of the year as that "group of men" in Dallas start wondering where they will be playing the following year. If we are the usual contender that we have been over the years, no better no worse ( I think we will be better due to Haley and the O line mainly), then we can, and likely will, beat all those teams mentioned. If we do that and take care of the Ravens we will be the #2 seed going into the playoffs (the Pats schedule is way to easy and they drafted well, I think they will be the #1 seed).

The two toughest non divisional games are the Broncos and the Giants as it stands now. Week 1 is is big this year and we're going into it without our FS (and leading tackler), which will make a difference against Peyton even though it probably should not have against Tebow. A Week 1 victory on the main stage Sunday night against the team that knocked us out last year is more important mentally then it is to the schedule. Don't get me wrong, it's a huge boost on the schedule, but this team can't have the Broncos and last year, then a beating in week 1 be in the back of their minds all season. We have to win!

All we have to do is weather the first couple of series on defense. Peyton's first regular season game, new team, nationally televised - I think if we can at least hold them to 3s out of the gate, we have a chance. I wouldn't be shocked to see us have to come back to win this one.

If our defense is as pissed as advertised, then look out AFC. Anyone watch any of the Ravens 1st teamers on both sides? Not like we'll know everything about them this early - but I thought they didn't look as explosive as our guys have thus far.

There may be some wishful thinking included here, but from what I've read and seen the Ravens have not looked good.
As mentioned, their first team offense and defense have struggled, especially the D.
I think their defense will definitely show some cracks this season and won't be nearly as dominating.
