According to USA Today, the NFL is apparently planning to get medieval on Time-Warner if TW does not start carrying the NFL Network

"The NFL is preparing to launch a $100 million attack ad campaign over the next six months in an attempt to force cable TV operators to carry its NFL Network channel, which will begin airing regular-season games in November. If the cable providers don't sign up, the NFL will urge consumers to switch to satellite TV operators that carry the channel, NFL Network spokesman Seth Palansky says."

"People will go nuts on Thanksgiving when there's a game on and they can't watch it"

"We think it's asinine that Time Warner (the nation's No. 2 cable provider) carries 12 shopping channels and 50 other channels you don't want ? but can't find room for one dedicated to the most popular sport in this country," Palansky says. "We're replacing the kid gloves with bare knuckles."

Quick. Call DirectTV and then call Time Warner and tell them to kiss your...

They are running a "special" (whatever the hell that means) if you buy the NFL package. My dish is going up August 11 - that is if they don't postpone me again.

Welcome to my world!! I moved last month from a Comcast area and now I am stuck with Charter Cable. They haven't had NFl Network since December.

Here is the gist...CFL Network wants to be on the main tier of any cable company's channels. This means at least expanded basic or regular digital. Turns out that Time Warner and Charter want to put NFL network on their high level sports tiers and charge extra for it. NFL Said no way and pulled the channel.

I am pissed cause I was getting NFL Network in HD on Comcast.

I would go with DirecTV but their High Def sucks...it isn't even high def. They chop off the resolution. a 1080i channel should be 1920x1080 resolution but DirecTV chops channels down to 1280x1080. It sucks....they call it HD Lite on message boards...
