Thank God, that I live in an area that has Knology. I found out they had the NFL Network, then found out it was already part of my package deal so all I needed was a new box and I was set!!!!
I actually had a Time Warner rep stop by my house to try to talk me into switching back to them...I thought about it and then said, NO WAY!

Oh man, that's really harsh.

Hey, waitaminute! I wonder what covers the Diamondhead/Bay St Louis area in MS? Do they even HAVE digital cable in SW MS????

Wait, wait...........I'm getting a vision..................I see a dish in my future, yes, that's what it is, small, dark in color, aimed towards the heavens so that my Black and Gold dreams remain embedded within my eyes.............

Thank you very much for your reply to my letter but one comment you make gives me pause. You stated: ?We would like to carry NFL Network again on our Sports Tier where football fans like you can receive the programming without requiring those of our customers who are not interested in football programming to pay additional costs.?

Additional costs? My Comcast bill was less expensive and they even carried the NFL Network in HD. Using this logic?why then, am I paying for these channels which I am not interested in?

49 Toon Disney Expanded Basic
50 Fit TV Expanded Basic
52 Home and Garden Expanded Basic
59 Outdoor Life Expanded Basic
60 Sci-Fi Expanded Basic
61 Women's Ent. Expanded Basic
62 TV Guide Expanded Basic
63 Soap Net Expanded Basic
65 Golf Channel Expanded Basic
66 Speed Channel Expanded Basic
67 Oxygen Expanded Basic
69 TV Land Expanded Basic
70 EWTN Expanded Basic
71 Travel Channel Expanded Basic
73 G4 Expanded Basic
74 Hallmark Channel Expanded Basic
75 Bravo - East Expanded Basic
76 Univision Expanded Basic
77 GSN (Game Show) Expanded Basic
78 BET Expanded Basic

The Golf Channel? Speed Network?

No offense but either of these channels would be a better fit for your niche based ?Sports Tier? while the NFL Network would fit more with ESPN or other sports channels in your regular expanded range. The NFL is the most popular pro sport in the country. I wish you had a package that let me pick the ten channels that I actually watch.

Excuse my frustration but I am forced to use your cable service as there are no other providers in my area. I understand if the NFL Network is playing hardball but look at the facts and popularity of this sport over what you show on the Speed Channel. I am not talking about some smalltime, niche channel.

The fact is that Charter and some areas of Time Warner are the only two cable providers of any worth not offering this channel.

I don?t want to switch to DirecTV but I will if I have to.

Thanks for your time,

Rob

Did you get a response from this one?

For anyone interested:

If, by chance, you decide to try satellite for the first time, you will be very, very pleased you did. Digital quality, unbelievable choices, AND local channels. I was with DirecTV for 4years, then went with Dish Network (who I recommend.)

I manage my bill/channel ordering/everything online, and it happens in realtime. I forget to pay a bill, my service gets cut off? I pay it online, *poof*, back up in seconds. I'll never have cable again.

None, really, but Dish was the first to offer local channels. I'd had DTV for 4 years, wanted local channels. I asked them for it, once Dish offered them, they said "buy an upgraded dish for $200!" Well, since Dish was offering up to 4 receivers & universal remotes, all local channels, free installation? I bid them farewell. I'm not saying DTV is bad at all, but Dish Network earned my business, and I have not been disappointed in the slightest.

HOWEVER: Installation is KEY. I live where there is a lot of wind, so I drove a metal pole about 5 feet into hard clay, then surrounded that with 50 lbs of concrete before mounting my dish. It doesn't move a c-hair in a monsoon. :) I did that for my DirecTV installation, and when the Dish guy came out, he complimented me on it. lol

So if I decide to move from cable to satellite, are you gonna come to FL and put it in for me?
LOL

Dish Network is cheaper, you can get your local network channels. Direct TV is more expensive, no local channels (you have to use your antenna) and you can get NFL Ticket. You can't get NFL Ticket with the Dish Network. Both come with NFL Network with the right package. Oh yeah, and Direct TV will make you pay $12 extra to get Fox Sports Pittsburgh in a special sports package where I can get FSN Pitt with my normal package thru Dish Network.

I am real close to getting Dish Network.
