There's no question we've had a bad run of events this spring and these allegations have been embarrassing to our organization and our fans," said HC Marvin Lewis. "We're moving forward on this today and we're done with it, OK? So understand that, all right? We're done with it. It's ludicrous for anybody to feel that these acts will affect the team or have any negative approach toward the mentality of the football team. No one who has ever played a competitive sport in their life feels that that has an effect on these athletes

I just don't get this guy. His comments last year regarding Ben and then this type of response. Seems like he is calling the rest of the world stupid. I think he needs a reality check. He`s a fine coach, but I think he does a rather poor job of handling the media. I always find a petulance in his demeanour when he has to deal with unpleasant topics.

I am sure he will find his way through the awful offseason his team has had but it is hardly "ludicrous" for anyone to speculate that the constant march of headlines won't affect the team is some way. I think he needs a new speechwriter.LOL :)

No one can doubt his coaching ability...especially as defensive coordinator in Baltimore...but I agree with you...watching and listening to him the past few years....I dunno...something weird there....he seems to live in a state of denial at times....

I don't think it's him as much as the Bengal's owner wanting to win at all costs. I'd bet Marvin Lewis could win with just about any team, but apparentlyt he owner doesn't think so.

no wonder paul tagliabue is retiring. he cant wait to hand off these powder keg problems of a loser franchise to someone else.

and he thought dealing with new orleans and the hurricaine was bad.

Its not Marvin making the decision on the guys who are picked it is Mike Brown, he has and he always will have his say in the draft....He looks for cheap talent in hopes of getting somewhere.
It has been working but at what cost? eventually bengals training camp will be held in a prison yard.

thats about as honest of a response i have seen on the matter from a bengalsfan.

it is true.

lewis is half decent despite his owner.

A coach can only do so much but when the guy writing the checks says jump they have to say how high.......I think he should hand the team over to Katie and her husband because things would be so much better.

lewis has definitely been undermined in his efforts to run a tighter ship. unfortunately he is now the face of the bengals recent success *snicker* and he will feel the heat of all the bad draft selections.

but without him, i doubt the ravens win a sb.

I agree and with out him the Bengals win the AFC North and have a playoff birth......He is a good coach and hopefully he is not ruined like so many others who have associated themselves with the franchise over the years.
But only time will tell what happens
