Misconduct, unnecessary roughness, and violating any of the NFL's policies are some of the reasons why an NFL player could receive game suspensions. The latest NFL player suspended for three games in 2012 for violating the leagues policy on substance abuse is 49ers Clark Haggans. In 2011, Haggans was arrested for DUI. In June, Haggans served a nine-day sentence. The following NFL players also had game suspensions in 2012:
