Week 3 Gameday Thread: Steelers @ Raiders 9/23/12

I can hear Tomlin's press conference now: "We didn't make enough significant plays, we take ownership of what we put on tape, blah blah blah" How about we always play down to our competition and we do whatever we need to to keep bad teams hanging around until they beat us"

Our historical record against the Raiders in their stadium is now 10 wins and 10 losses. I don't know what it is about that place, but we seem to have a 50% of sucking whenever we step foot inside of there.

The thing is - everyone's calling the Raiders a lousy team. Their record doesn't necessary show how good that team actually is - the Raiders have upgrades which, as I said earlier, may end up giving them a chance at being a legitimate team as the season progresses. Carson seemed to be very much at ease with his offense.

We lost to a team that just played better when it mattered. It's not the end of the world.

No running game, OLD defense (Players getting hurt), 3 games into the season and already Polamalu is out, aged linemen. OMG..Im worried about more than just this season...

The Raiders are as bad as everyone thinks. Face it our D is horrible at best. The coaches decision to sit Troy and Harrison thinking this was going to be a cakewalk backfired on them. It's unfortunate that with those two players out this Defense is HORRIBLE, not one leader on that whole side of the ball.

Our defense, as usual, underperformed. Penalties, sloppy play, and an overall disrespect for a future HOF'ers arm cost us this game. And that can rest squarely on the shoulders of a 3rd string defense, Ike Taylor, and the coaching staff.

Horrific to say the least, embarrassing at best, and this is going to be a long season. I'm prepared for it after this weeks loss however. I know whats coming.

Well at least we know we're not going to loose next week! This is going to be the longest two weeks.

we beat outselves, plain and simple. this makes me want to vomit like the last time we played at oakland.

we hold on to the damn ball, we win the game. instead, despite outplaying the raiders by a big margin, we make enough mistakes to give them hope and eventually lose.

this is the worst kind of loss where you know you should have won, but just didn't.

Palmer is not in any way, shape or form a Hall of Fame QB. He is a shadow of his former self and should have had the crap knocked out of him today. Shame, shame, shame defense. You make me want to puke.

Based on how we made him look tonight, of course he is. Couldn't you tell? I mean only a future HOF'er could shred a top end secondary like the Steelers right???
