It's true that we get little TV coverage compared to the rest of the teams, but if they covered us more they would just trash talk and say how much we will have our hands full just trying to get 3rd place in the division.

Pittsburgh gets a little air-time, but certainly not what they should get. Especially on a "game day". If it was others, it would be talked up and down and up and down.

I actually get to see most "First Take's" and the later NFL show as well, and while the Steelers get mentioned every now and then.....these particular subjects are talked about over and over and over and over and over again. No matter which show on ESPN or ESPN2. It's to the point of "sickening" :

-Tim Tebow
-the Jets and Mark Sanchez
-Tim Tebow
-the Patriots and Tom Brady
-the Giants
-Tim Tebow
-Cam Newton
-RGIII

Sure...they talk about some other things....but by and large...these are the things that are completely beaten to death on a DAILY basis.

True.....i get sick and tired of hearing how "horrible" we are, how "old" we are, and how much we suck every time Rob Parker is on (which is alot).

I don't mind them saying that the defense is old (they are).

I don't mind them saying that the defense is injured (they are).

I don't mind them saying that the defense lacks talent (at some positions, they are).

But, we all know that PITT's defense has still been effective, for three years, despite all of those factors.

Of course, that said, the age, injuries, & lack of talent has indeed made for a rough start. And,, I don't mind them saying that the defense is currently struggling (they are).

What bugs me is that while the defense is struggling & the talking heads have no problem ripping them for it... these same media hounds NEVER mention that the OFFENSE is looking like it might be on the brink of something truly amazing.

The sportscasters should be talking about BB for his 9-1 TD-INT ratio... but, they don't.

The sportscasters should be talking about Todd Haley transforming this defense (less sacks, more TOP)... but, they don't.

The sportscasters should be talking about the return of Droppy Mendenspin, and how he could turn this offense into an elite one (from a really good one)... but, they don't.

Instead, all we hear is the same drivel (about Troy's calf, Harrison's age, and Lewis's inexperience).

its not just the media. its heard on steelers message boards, like this one, as well.

i guess it makes it easier to decipher who is gobbling all the shit the media spoon feeds.

theres alot folks uber angered with the steelers 2-2 record. it makes them think irrational thoughts, and type irrational sentences.

To be fair, we're not exactly lighting up the NFL with our performance this year. We're 2-2...if they said more about us, most of it would be negative. Shows are fueled by ratings, and ratings climb for gossip, dirt, and controversy...not discussing teams that the common NFL fan likely sees as mediocre. The sheep, however, love some Tebow reports.

If you're looking for decent Steelers coverage on ESPN, you're in the wrong media outlet. Try KDKA.
