Default Fire the Steelers.....

Wow.

Tell me our fanbase is not THIS spoiled.... We are sub- .500 for our first time since 2006, and only 5 weeks into the season, and we need to fire Mike Tomlin?

Really?

I get that some of you are nothing but opportunists, and have been lurking in the shadows since before our last two SB appearances for your chance to slam Mike Tomlin.

The fact he made you wait 5 seasons for your moment in the limelight, is telltale.

All the Steelers need to do is fix a few leaky areas on their pass defense, and they are back in business.

And if they don't? Whoopdeedoo. We have our first sub-.500 season under Mike Tomlin, his first in the 5 seasons he has been with us.

Some of you capologists should have seen this coming. Since 2008, the Steelers saw a window and pulled the trigger-- we signed Big Ben, Harrison, Woodley, and Timmons to huge contracts, something the Steelers have never been known for.

And it isn't just Tomin. Keep in mind, there was an ownership change aroudn the same time.

We are 2-3. It is what it is. They can still pull this season together, but maybe not too.

Either way, some of you need to move your finger away from the trigger-- the Ravens fans are getting too huge a laugh out of your fair-weatherness.

Fire away.

Everybody's just frustrated is all.

There are two types of below .500 teams; those that basically suck and those that have just had a run of bad luck. We surely don't suck and we all know that this team is way too talented to have the season destroyed by a few bad games.

I think it boils down to two things:
1. Our Defense needs to stop depending on one or two players to get things done.
2. Our Offense needs to take the rag off of the carburetor and let the engine run the way it's supposed to.

It's time to pull out all the stops and have some fun!

At this point, what's the worst that could happen?

With BR7 behind the center we can still win any game we play.

i agree but if the line gets banged up any more than it is, he won't even have time to do 3 step drops

IMO, a big part of the negativity comes from the way the losses came about. If we didn't have any talent and we went 4-12...well, people would be saying that's what you expect from a bunch of bums.

But we have a ton of talent on this team, and we're coming up short. We have what, like a dozen guys earning 10mil or more this year? Only a few of them are earning it. So here we are, and fans are mad that guys making huge paychecks are either riding the bench, stinking it up, or going out hurt.

If it seemed like there was more effort and hunger to win, the negativity would dry up pretty quick. For me, the worst part of the loss this week was them showing a shot of Troy on the sidelines grinning like he was perfectly happy to be right where he was instead of suited up and on the field.

o yeah, one mor thing

look at the AFC

who has dominated?

sure ravens are 5-1 but they had 2 close ones AT HOME,
and played the chiefs close on the road.

were only 2 back of them....still play them, bengals twice..

count em... 3 teams are above 500 at this point in the AFC.

and if chargers lose, that number goes to 2...

Its not even November yet, were still within striking distance,

yet are season is over? unbelievable.

ravens got some injury issues over there espeically on d.

if we still suck in December then fine, but until were out of the playoff and afc north hunt... Steelers fans look foolish acting like the season is over...

We were under .500 after one week last year and obviously overcame it. Also, we were 6-7 in 2009, the year that reminds me of this one, losing to bad teams we thought we should beat.

Riddle,

GREAT post!!!

Escondido... north-east SD. So, you know all to well that San Diego Charger fans don't care when their team is 4-0... or 0-4... or 2-2. Their stadium is the same, no matter what the record: empty.

We Steelers fans (my dad being one of the most egregious of the following) are overly hard on the team... and expect 19-0 every season... and expect the defense to hold the opposition to ZERO yards in every game... while PITT's offense scores a touchdown on every drive. In other words, unless the score is 56-0, Steelers fans will find SOMETHING to gripe about.

We are a spoiled, fickle bunch.

But, thankfully, we are not Chargers fans (if you catch my drift).
