I know the Pats have had much success with using some of their defensive players on offense at times. I think Vrabel has a couple of TD catches in his career including the Super Bowl. I know Seymour lines up in their offensive sets at well at times. But its a neat idea. But you risk lossing some of your defensive players to injury by doing that. But hey in the heat of battle and sometimes you have pull out all the stops to win a game. Then why not?

The Panthers use Julius Peppers quite often as a Tight End...and sometimes as a wide out as well

I personally love the idea. If these guys are good enough athletes and have decent hands, why not use them in goal line situations? Plus, with Whisenhunt's playcalling ability, I'm sure he'd have a few tricks up his sleeve to trip up a defense that's overcompensating for a particular play.
