i was wrong too - i truthfully thought Manning would abuse our secondary with special attention given to Cruz and also abusing Ike Tayler.
We also had to play the refs in the 1st quarter - which made this victory even more impressive than it was in the first place. Those awful calls could have and should have really sealed the deal for them. But they failed to capitalize. I'm pleasantly surprised with the outcome today.
The "next man up" theory that Tomlin lives by really showed today again.

I'm eating crow as well. There's still work to be done but the way the D played today gives me renewed optimism.

This team overcame SO MUCH today....

They overcame a league directive to ensure a Steelers loss by the worst officiating I may have ever seen. And they overcame their own headcoach with the worst trick special teams play I have ever seen as well.

They also overcame squandering fantastic field position again and again by the return team and key injuries to two great players in Brown and Rainey.

I can only pray that they are not done for the year.

If this offense could ever execute at the high level I think they are capable of, the sky is the limit.

The defense played fantastic ball today...absolutely fantastic. The run game was also excellent.

i was accused of being a blind homer wearing rose colored glasses for defending this team (far too many times), D-coordinator, ike, wallace, and realisticly pointing out that when we lost to tennessee we lost mendenhall, redman, gilbert, and pouncey, along with having dwyer inactive to ride the pine with troy and woodley.

we still took them to the wire.

i still saw a bright future though.

I've been a doomsayer quite a bit this season, but they really did a great job overall in this game. Especially considering that they got hosed on quite a few calls and kept fighting.

However, I have to say, if they didn't pull ahead and win it in the end, I would have been screaming "FIRE MIKE TOMLIN" for that horrible Suisham TD attempt, lol.

Switched over to NFLN after the game. Where's Warren Sapp?

Something I posted on 10/17/12:

We are going to the Super Bowl!!!

( remember, you heard it here first)

We got the rest of the league just where we want them

(just wanted to give a big slap on the back to myself)

I never wavered from my 10-6 pre-season prediction. I stand by it and always have. I've said numerous times that it is absolute SUICIDAL to Steelers haters to count them out of anything!

SUICIDAL!

I didn't write them off, but I was very displeased with their attitudes and intensity early on

These past 2 games, Ive seen the fire in their eyes....."The Have To"

We're still in major do do, because all of our losses have been to AFC teams

But at least they look like they want it now.....and if they can get healthy enough toward the end, then who knows

Nah, we're right where we're at. A win VS KC puts us at 6-3. We MUST TAKE CARE OF BALTIMORE in 2 weeks. Right now, we hold the 6th seed with nobody that remotely scares me behind us. Take care of Balty and we're gunnin for the #2 seed!
