now that they found that 'fire' then i'm optimistic again. it's just maddening when they came out flat and had no sense of urgency even after losing to oakland, that should have been enough of an eye opener. |

I didn't think we'd beat the Giants either. After today I'm convinced we're a Super Bowl contender and will be predicting them to win every other game this year unless they really collapse.

The next 4 games will likely determin the season. We HAVE to be Baltimore at least once, if we do that and beat the Cheifs and Browns we'll be in contention for a first week bye, if we beat them twice we'll be SB bound, buf if ww loose to them twice or drop the two "easier" games then we'll be fighting for a wild card.

Why do people talk about the Super Bowl halfway through the season? The team is looking awesome, but there is many games to be played. Week 8 will be forgotten in week 12. One game at a time!

RE: This season
Much like most of you, I had my doubts about this team early on, but over the last 40 some years since Noll took over the team, most years we don't start out like a house on fire. But the Axiom is: It isn't how you start, as long as you don't get buried too far, it's how well you play down the stretch that counts. I'm pretty sure most of us realized things were going to be shakey early on with the new offense ( any body missing Arians??), then the injuries to Troy P, Gilbert, Mendenhal's recovery and subsequent injuries, Harrison on the mend, Woodley's hamstring. At the same time, I'm also thinking most of us were faily confident thisgs would get much better as the season wore on. I think, along with the OL gelling nicely, and our special teams play, the biggest improvement this season is that the secondary has adjusted to life without Troy Palamalu. |

I have no worries when it comes to Baltimore this season.
I record every one of their games and watch them closely. The only team they beat that was a legit contender was New England, and the manner in which they won was very questionable. Many bad calls to set up their final touchdown and a field goal that looked....odd. Most of their wins came down to just a couple of points and that was against some not-so-great to downright horrible teams. They lost Lewis and Webb. Ngata and Reed are playing through injuries. Suggs is not nearly as explosive as he once was. And Cam Cameron is a terrible OC. Not to mention their defense couldn't stop a big wheel, let alone a great offense. I'm not saying we sweep them, but I would bet money on Pittsburgh pulling out the W at home. |

Let's not engrave the trophy quite yet. We were 6-2 in 2009 before the bottom fell out. Keep stacking wins, there is still ground to make up.
