Anyone that tries to play this off as totally normal is only kidding themselves. It's embarrassing, really. Most of the American population would be with me in saying that something else is going on here. I've read comments on blogs, articles. Facebook posts and forums, and it's always the democrats playing damage control. Pretending like absolutely nothing weird is going on here. CIA director no longer needs to testify. He's off the hook, and Obama is one step closer to putting the lid on this thing.

Private citizens can be compelled to testify before Congress and if they refuse to do so can be held in contempt just as easily as federal officials

Practically speaking, however, the odds are extremely low that the military would prosecute a retired officer for having an affair, said Eugene R. Fidell, a prominent military law expert who teaches at Yale University.

“They’re as close to zero as you can get,” Fidell said. “It would have to be a grave matter before the executive branch would prosecute a retiree.”

Compelled by whom? Obama doesn't want him to testify, I can assure you that. Mr. Petraeus resigned and took his pension with him. This whole thing will get swept under the rug, and the truth about it will NEVER be admitted. This is the CIA and the American Government, after all...
