Glad to see him starting but I almost want Ben to play poorly. His pre-seasons have not come close to his regular season and I have no problem keeping it that way. Aside from the fact that it will keep other teams guessing about his mental status. I would like to see what Washington and Holmes can do. Also curious to see who gets the first crack at a possible goal line run. Wonder who will play first, Boyd or Jacobs. We will find out in a little over 48 hours.

Anyways, it's great to know Ben is doing as well as we hoped. I remember the thoughts I had when this all happened and I'm so glad that I was wrong.

I think everybody had their doubts whether they want to admit it or not. The guy was close to death. Starting the first preseason game was the last thing that I felt he would be able to do at the time.

I think when it comes down to it, he is wanting to show some leadership and is sort of apologizing... if that makes any sense. It seems like he felt really bad for letting everyone down by not wearing his helmet and jeopardizing his career and the franchise and has set out on a mission to start in the preseason opener to prove a point and say "Look, I'm sorry I made a mistake and I'm going to do everything possible to show everyone that I'm not going to let the accident have any affect on my performance or the team"

That's kind of what I have envisioned in my head and what I like to think. Ben starting in the preseason opener speaks louder than words and shows tremendous heart to get back out on the field. Is he rushing it??? That's really a good question and nobody can really answer that question right now. If something happens, then of course everyone will think he rushed it. Time will certainly tell...
