bust? no, he's been pretty decent to good.
is he aaron smith? hell no. but if you expect him to be aaron smith, you will be disappointed. just like expecting our next starting SS to be troy polamalu, or our next OLB to be harrison or porter. Smith was one of the best 3-4 DE's of all time, maybe the best in his prime, there won't be another like that for a long time. |

Losing the Prime Smith is why our D isn't legendary anymore
We have a good D....borderline "Elite" when healthy but when we had a Prime Smith in there it was at another level.....He let our OLBs eat on some QB because he commanded a Double Team.....which often he still drove back an collapsed the inside of the pocket He pretty much was the reason we could get away with the Cushion-Era
