Seriously who is going to beat this team in the AFC?
And to anyone who says the Steelers, put down the crack pipe. |

To be honest, I think if any team in the AFC has upset potential over the Patriots, its the Steelers. The two teams aren't strangers.
Without going into detail and breaking down each game, I see the Patriots easily dispatching Denver, Baltimore, Texas, etc. I definitely wouldn't bet money on the Steelers, because I think this season it would be a blow out 9 times out of 10, but the two teams hate each other so the upset possibility would be there if Pittsburgh could play inspired football and have some flukey things go their way. Aside from Manning who Belichick knows how to contain, the Steelers are the only team of the bunch with a decent quarterback. But... yes, the Patriots are going back to the Superbowl this year, and the chances of them losing it are pretty slim.

I agree that the Steelers have at least as good a shot as anyone to take down the Pats. There was something informative in their last meeting... seemed like a little light had gone on in Lebeau's head or something.
I disagree on the inevitability of NE winning it all. Seems pretty obvious at this point that the little light has gone off in Brady's head. |

I don't really think their meeting last year was some significant shift in the Patriot / Steelers rivalry or anything but I do know the Patriots inspire everyone's absolute best shot and the Steelers would come out really wanting to put them away.
Whether or not they could, or whether or not they just wouldn't get humiliated, remains to be seen. I think the Steelers would have trouble with the Patriots super-fast no huddle run offense. I think the Gronkowski / Hernandez unguardable TE package is something the Steelers didn't get a taste of last year. Brady has historically just had Pittsburgh's number. I would go into that game pretty confident. I'm just saying I think despite that the Steelers have a better shot at doing it then Denver, Texas and Baltimore, who I think have zero chance of getting anything but crushed.

The Steelers may lose to inferior teams, but if there has been anything they've been equally consistent in this year, it's getting UP for tough opponents. They beat Baltimore in Baltimore, upset the Giants in New York, gave Denver a hard time, and shut down the red-shot Redskins and RGIII. And I'm going to say that they're going to be up for Dallas this week too. The Steelers are 5-2 against opponents with winning records this year. |

New England has SF next week - SF has one pretty scary defense, and their rookie QB is playing great. That game isn't exactly going to be a cakewalk for NE.
Houston, when all is said and done, will likely nab that #1 seed(their remaining schedule is Indy twice and Minny at home - Indy has a rookie QB playing in Dec, and Minny has no passing game, IOW neither team is NE). They also are nicked up with injuries on D - with the bye week, they would get them all back(except for Cushing). |
