Default Re: Three positions we need to get younger/better

A quality RB will take some pressure off the WR's. The last few games have proved that any shitbird team can jam the box and end Dwyer and Redmens day. Once the run is shut down, we have no play action, and everything is on Ben's shoulders.

This "Smashmouth" shit everyone loves Dwyer for is 90's football. Speed is what rules the league. When Brady drops back you usually think he's passing, but he can just as easily hand it off to a guy who will turn the corner and take off if you were playing the pass too deep.

A lot of the teams with big passing games have a fast RB to keep the defense afraid. These guys are just a little smaller than Dwyer, but they have burst speed to hit the edge and take off, and it really makes a defense stay on their toes. There's really no arguing this point anymore. If you still think the Dwyer/Redman combo is the way to go forward, then the offense you're seeing now is exactly what you're voting for. Guys clogging the middle, and crawling up Ben's ass every play. You double team Brown, and keep a guy near Wallace in case he accidentally catches a ball so you can force his fumbles. Offense shut down.
