This season was a combination of injuries (Ben, OLine, Ike, Troy, Harrison, Woodley), personnel issues (RB, CB), outright poor play (Wallace, Brown, Ben, backup CBs), and maybe one or two ill-advised decisions by Tomlin. Every coach makes some stupid gambles that don't pay off, but nobody gets completely scapegoated for it as the only reason for a team's failure like Tomlin does around here.

I am of the humble opinion that a game is not decided on one play.
Injuries? Again? It is not a fluke when you keep having so many injuries. You are being outplayed. Dallas came out more physical in the first quarter. The chargers played more physical the entire game. This is a matter of not being ready to play which lies on coaching.

Anyway. Ben is her for the long haul. More so than Tomlin.
If next season is a repeat of this one, Ben stays, Tomlin probably goes.

Injuries/being out played
Unforced Bone headed mistakes
Bad play calling
Bad preparation and game planning.

Our main problem was coaching this year. Ben throwing 2 lousy timed interceptions in games that should have been put away by then does not change that.

Exactly, we had to many opportunities to score but the O-line was ridiculous today.
The bad snap for the 24 yd fg was a killer.
The missed 53 yarder would've been great if it was made but since he missed now we need to fire Tomlin, yea right...

Are you kidding me? Today had nothing to do with Tomlin or Haley? In that case today and all our other losses due to a lack of offense have nothing to do with Tomlin or Haley. Why stop there, let's just follow that logic to the fullest, no struggling offense has ever been the fault of the OC or the HC.

Back to reality, I agree with the many others who say one play does not make the game. Sure Ben basically handed the opponent another game at the end, but the offense couldn't move the ball all game. If the offense could have just got 5 yards after Allen's INT then that game winning FG would have just been a game tying FG. If they could have at least managed to make a small drive on either of their last 2 drives and get a FG there, then Ben's play wouldn't have mattered at all. Yes Ben's throw sealed the deal, but it was the offense as a whole that cost us the game. That offense is led by Haley and his boss is Tomlin, so yes there are clear coaching problems.

Earlier this season there was posters who praised the Giants and Eli and how they could turn it on when needed but the Steelers were not coached well enough to do the same thing. Well those posters were half right the Steelers played below their talent, and the defending world champions are sitting home for the playoffs just like us. Eli looked like crap for most of their losses. What does that prove, not a dang thing. Nearly every team has setbacks, and this was ours. No excuses but we had a new OC, so many injuries that we only recently fielded the same OL in back to back games, injuries to DBs, their backups, LBers , Safeties, WRs and QB and backup QB. We have yet to see what Spence is capable on the field, a NT arrested and no clue what he can do. So yea we had a crappy season, not our first. Cowher had back to back 7-9 and 6-10 seasons, even a 6-10 season two years before his Superbowl winning team.
