Draft thought of the day:
With so many teams in the top 10 needing QBs... BUT, with so few quality QBs (not top-ten worthy).... AND with Dallas sitting at the perfect spot/wanting to draft one of these mediocre QBs... Trade back from 17, with one of those teams in the top 10. Those QB-needy teams would want to trade up from the top of R2, in order to get in front of Dallas; Pittsburgh could use multiple picks; and, this is a deep draft. 17 traded to JAX for; the 34th pick the 64th pick & next year's R1 pick. 34 Matt Elam, S (from Jax) 47 Gerald Hodges LB (or) Barrett Jones LG 64 Shayne Skov, LB (from Jax) 79 Leon McFadden CB (or) Nico Johnson, LB R4 Marcus Lattimore, RB (IR him for a year) Then, in the 2014 draft (this is where it gets really good)... you know that JAX will have a top ten pick. Use that acquired pick top-ten pick, plus PITT's own R1 (& possibly R2 pick, depending on exactly where JAX's pick lands)... ...to trade up for CLOWNEY. |
