This type of action was was surely not going to be popular with that base - if the Steelers didn't make a move, the shit would have hit the fan. Steelers went ahead and struck first.

That's due to the Men of SF calendar

I think that ALL teams & their fans look down on abuse...
...but for some reason, DUIs are overlooked.

yeah, Rainey "slaps" a woman and no one's even injured. Immediately gets released.

Ta'amu is insanely drunk, driving an SUV thats like a missile to kill, hits all kinds of parked cars, injures a woman (did you see her face ....wow), then flees, then resists officers - all the while he could have been shot, really. And not even his first offense btw.

Yet....
He wasn't immediately let go. WTF.

Maybe Rooney is finally putting his foot down - all the way down - after the Ta'amu incident

He "stopped her" and then assaulted her - IMO there was more to this early morning tussle than pilfering her cellphone - maybe breakfast chit-chat did not go well?

Because football fans like to drink and beer companies pay big $$ to sponsor the NFL?

Already cut. He'll be signed by another team in no time after/if he is released

I agree, seems like a real double standard to me otherwise...

I'm shocked they cut him less then 24 hours after the alleged incident. I'm surprised they didn't wait for all the factd

i'm sure the billionaire Rooney's that run the winningest franchise in modern football, the most popular sport in America, really give a shit about what their center wants. If they can move on from the 70s dynasty players, and they can move on from Bill Cowher's days, they'll be over what Pouncey wants.

Players come and go, the Steelers will win consistently over time no matter what.
