I agree that Elam would be awesome or the OLB from Georgia.
Yeah I'm saying Tomlin would have taken Revis. Tomlin was high on Revis to the media before the draft. That is where the specualtion from multiple media sources came from.

And Ben doesn't get along with OCs not named Bruce. And the defense is old- still very good but 2010 was their last dominant year.

Obviously alot can change between now and April and the Steelers have multiple needs, but...

Lets say both Elam AND Te'O are sitting there... how could they NOT do whatever it takes to trade up and nab both?

Even at great cost to 2/3D rounders (this and/or next year) a quality CB/RB/QB/WR could still be had in later rounds...

Sounds too good to be true.

If there was a draft the steelers needed two in the first, its this draft.

Te'O showed his true colors in the Bowl game. He's a scrub. I will bet money he amounts to nothing in the NFL.

I don't really see the steelers going Corner in the first round.... But if I had to see one get picked.

Xavier Rhodes please

I do like Elam but I do agree we should trade back and get some extra picks.

I am not in favor of drafting a RB in the 2nd round. I don't think it's a bigger need than Safety or OLB(which I'd like to see us take in the 1st round)

If Woodley can be counted to pick up his game next year, technically,we will have 3 viable OLB starters: Harrison, Woodley, and Worilds. I am confident Harrison gets back to near form and takes a discount. Woodley should have a big year after this disappointing one.

If we just keep Mendenhall and work out whatever bad blood there is between he and coach, we won't need to waste a draft pick on RB, especially with so many other areas of need.

I actually agree with the original assessment, except I would go:

1) DT
2) TE
3) CB
4) SS/FS

We probably won't have Casey the Hutt. That leaves Steve Mclendon to hold down the DT position all by his lonesome. Better hope he does not get hurt.....or we might have to get Ta'amu out of prison to play. Also, with only one DT, what happens on those 3rd downs when they line up in a 4-3?

With Heath likely gone to start the year, we need some tight ends to spread defenses out. Paulson is looking pretty good, but Pope is NOT the answer.

After Ike taylor and Keenan Lewis (who we may lose) went down-- things got ugly. We need more than 2 viable starting CBs. Lest we make Phillip Rivers and Spurlock (who?) look like future hall of famers again.

NT is a possibility... or it won't get drafted at all. It's weird how things are. NT is such a keystone for the 3-4, that you would think that they'd go Nt in R1... but... with McClendon being given a shot, and Fangupo (a Chris Hoke clone) as a back-up, they might be willing to roll the dice that Ta'aamu sticks around (does tno go to jail), which would eliminate the need for a NT. It is a calculated risk... and I'm not sure where Colbert stands on that risk.

Cortez Allen is the future (with Allen). Beyond that, Yes, they need a nickel-back... like a R4-R5 pick... (insert my love of Leon McFadden SDSU).

I like the idea of trading back, pickup a couple extra picks, and drafting Vaccaro or Elam in the first round, maybe another safety later, a DE/OLB like Buchanan from Illinois in the fourth or so, a DT like Pena from Mississippi St. in the 6th or 7th, and maybe a ILB somewhere along the way. Point is we need to get more young blood in key positions on defense so we can be solid for years. My only problem with drafting defensive players is that it takes LeBeau too long to work them into the system and they sit the bench for a year or two before they get consistent playing time. But it's still necessary to start reloading the defense.

If the Steelers do not add a RB or WR in Free agency and they probably will not I guarantee you will see both picked within the first four rounds of this draft.

Besides Colbert's recent statements about the RBs is not a glowing endorsement and indicates huge changes will happen here and I believe he said no restricted free agents will be offered tenders.

Just look at the current depth chart of this team to find your answers on what positions the Steelers will draft early.
