He probably had to make sure Belichick heard him say "congratulations" or he'd have to keep the handshake going until Bill heard him.

First, Bellicheck is a punk in every interview he does. But for my part, I HATE halftime interviews, I HATE post game interviews, I HATE the assinine questions that reporters ask. Less babble, more of the game. Show me the players celebrating or crying and shut up. I will make my own evaluation about the coaching decisions.

And Peyton Manning walked off the field immediately after the Colts lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. You would think with Manning being a New Orleans native, he would almost immediately congratulate Brees and the team he grew up watching(and his dad played for as well).

I'm not defending Belichick, but sadly this is nothing new.

Seems like some of these guys - Belichick and Manning (above example) - are turning into sore losers. I know other players and coaches have skipped expected interviews, but you have to keep in mind they are still PROFESSIONALS. Who cares if one guy does it? Each of these individuals should act professionally, even if they are caught up in emotion after the game. Their inability to handle themselves in proper conduct is unprofessional. To me it's inexcusable. If you are asked to do an interview after the game, do it. Don't just skip out because your team lost.
