Draft Tek's latest mock

Rd 2. Eddie Lacey RB, Alabama
Rd 3. Baccari Rambo FS, Georgia
Rd 4. Brandon Jenkins, OLB, Florida St.
Rd 5. Spencer Nealy, DE, Tex A&M
Rd 6. Chris Cagg, TE, Arkansas
Rd 7. Devin Smith, CB, Wisconsin

I would like this draft. It addresses a lot of area's of concern (minus wide receiver), potentially more hits than misses, SEC heavy, infusion of youth to our aging defense. Pretty solid to me.

If we would take Minter I would want a trade down and an extra 3rd. No way should we take Minter at 17. Ogletree would be a better pick, but he does have that 4 game drug suspension.

Eddie Lacey (Baby Bus!) Great feet for a big man. Does look like a younger Bettis.

You draft Rambo you better remember one thing, "A good supply of body bags." Rambo says, "They drew first blood."

Brandon Jenkins is the exact kind of guy the Steelers want to find when looking for an OLB since there is usually such a risk with these guys. 3rd or 4th round is less risky then a number 1.

A Receiver would have to be included in the top 3 rounds, and maybe an extra draft pick in the 3rd for trading down would help.

I'm all in favor of trading down and picking up an extra draft pick. I think that would be the idea move, since we're probably not going to be big players in free agency, we need to replenish through the draft big time. We're going to have to hit big time on late round picks and undrafted free agents.

You got to remember we are like 20 million over the cap and that's with less than 53 players. So not only do you have to get under the cap then sign a few more players for practice squad and to fill out your 53 man roster and sign draft picks. Adding more picks would be great but may not be a possibility due to cap issues.

I'd rather trade up a few spots to select vaccaro.

Even if you trade up and lose a draft pick, you still have to sign players to fill out the roster. It's not like we'd save anything by losing a draft pick. That spot would be filled one way or the other.
