Dennis Dixon: Philadelphia Eagles' QB jobs up for grabs
By Chris Wesseling Around the League Writer Published: Feb. 18, 2013 at 03:47 p.m. One of the reasons the Seattle Seahawks are among the NFL's most fascinating teams is coach Pete Carroll's vision of constant competition. Russell Wilson is a prime example, overtaking favorite Matt Flynn and veteran incumbent Tarvaris Jackson in last summer's quarterback derby. The early signs suggests new coach Chip Kelly plans to preach that same gospel of competition for roster spots and starting jobs. Former Oregon star Dennis Dixon, signed last week, already has been given the impression that the Week 1 quarterback job is up for grabs. "From my understanding, the job is open," Dixon said in a conference call Monday. "It's going to be a very competitive nature around here. It's pretty much open. May the best man win." (Read More:) http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...s-up-for-grabs __________________________________________________ _____________ Well, I hope Dixon is getting sized up for a green and silver skirt and splinter-proof panties because I have news for him..... he ain't the man.

Yes, but it has been stated by new head coach Chip Kelly that it will be an open competition for the starting job. It doesn't hurt that Kelly was the head coach at Oregon when Dixon was there. It was part of the reason why Kelly brought him in. He's familiar with Dixon and his skill set. They also still have Nick Foles as well as long as they don't trade him away which could be possible. If they don't, the more likely scenario is that Foles beats the dog killer out than Dixon.

I watched very little of the Eagles last season, but from what I saw Foles sucked, and Vick was hardly the main reason they lost as much as they did.

He got his precious bodily fluids beat out of him and was a turnover machine who played extremely uneven before predictably getting injured, they were fortunate to start 3-1 with the way Vick was playing
