Default Now its Duce vs. Kuhn?

If you believe what this writer is saying - and the game against the Vikes might answer this question - then Staley may not even make it past this camp.

The Code Red issued on the condition of our wide receivers before the draft is still somewhat unsettling given that fact we have a 'glut' in training camp. Of course the Reid pick is something you hope for but don't expect.

I'm thinking Humes' career as a Steeler is almost over. Not hearing great news about Verron or Duce.

So here we are reaching into the war chest for a Division II Shippensburg University standout to save the season? What the hell. Miracles do happen. My eyes lit up on the couple of carries he got...of course it wasn't against first team defense.

Going to the passing game this year may not just be an option but more like the only option.

Hey, if the new guys are better than the old guys, that's great because the old guys went all the way last year.

I'm pumped. It's great to hear about a guy coming in and getting better every day, especially playing against the Steelers defense.

Humes, well that's the way it goes. If you want to make it, you gotta get low and blow folks out. If you can't do that, NEXT!

SOMEONE is going to make it. If the Shippensburg kid is the guy, GREAT!

Whatever works... and yes, i can see Staley or Humes getting cut in favor of this guy. If he can run withthe ball and is effective... AND can also play fullbakc if needed .... then i dontgive a shit where he is from or what kind of school he came from, as long as he can play.

If Staley or Humes needs to be cut then so be it.

As long as we win, who cares.

But I will say this " Staley owes us something for the money that was donated to his bank account"

OK...are we going just a little over the top on this Kuhn guy??

We've played two preseason games...

Our RB's will be Willie, Duce, and Verron....

Kuhn has apparently outperformed Humes...so be it...

I'd have to agree with you here, 203. Kuhn was very impressive in last night's game against the Vikes' scrubs and I think he has a good chance of making the team over Humes, but you're right - the Steelers have played only two preseason games thus far.

I don't believe Staley is going anywhere and as long as he stays healthy, I think Cowher plans to use him on third down and short and goal line situations, which is similar to most of what the Bus did last season. Every team seems to have their goal line hawk and that is a big part of Duce's role here. Verron normally blocks pretty well, though he almost caused Charlie to get his head torn off last night, but he also has shown a lot of speed and good cutting ability, so I don't think he's going anywhere either. I see Humes getting the ax which is unfortunate, as I think this kid does possess some talent, but thems the breaks.

I also think it will be Willie, Haynes, Duce and Kuhn. Cowher will keep Duce just because he is a veteran and has done it before. Haynes could have a breakout year and Willie will just continue to get better.
