Default " In Colbert's Shoes "

Let's do this.........hoping the Pats sign Sanders to an offer sheet. That will free up 1.3 mill in cap space do to the amount of his tender, and it will land a 3rd round pick in the 2013 draft. Sign Victor Butler ( LB Dallas ) to compete with Worilds, sign Larod Steven Howlings ( Ariz ) to compete for 3rd down back / special team return resposibilities. Neither will require much of a contract obligation, and fills 3 needs. Rely on the draft to fill other needs. Trade down a few ( 5 or 6 ) spots in the first round, and gain another 3rd round pick. If Jarvis Jones ( LB - Georgia) is NOT available. With this in mind.......here is "this GM's" mock draft for 2013

1. T.Austin - WR - West Virginia ( Sanders replacement in the slot, return man, and playmaker )

2.P.Thomas - S - Fresno State ( Troy's understudy - Clark's eventual replacement )

3. L.Bell - RB - Mich State ( feature back in our new zone blocking scheme )

3T = the pic aquired with trading down in 1st - D.Rodgers -WR - Tenn Tech ( 6'3' 217lb M.Wallace replacement )

3C = compensation for losing Sanders - A. Bailey - OG - Arkansas ( Plug and play OG, allows a very sound , aggressive, athletic OLine)

4. T.Simon - CB - LSU

5. M. Lattimore - RB- S. Carolina ( Beast of a RB, steal of the draft...............allow a year to learn and get healthy )

6.M.Muati - LB - Penn State ( LB depth, and eventual Foote replacement )

7. D. Robinson - WR/RB/QB - Michigan ( Newest "Slash", elevates 3 or maybe even 4 positions )

7b. D. Sims - TE - Michigan State ( H.Miller insurance, and eventual starter in 2 TE sets )

Steeler problems solved !!

welcome to the board! Nice post, that mock draft looks pretty sweet. Personally I'd like to see a TE and LB drafted higher, but if your mock is the way it went I wouldn't complain.

yeah, they're getting a lot of people on the team. I hope through free agency and the draft they put the right people on this team and fill all the needs. It's going to be tough, but I think they'll get it right.

I hear ya there ! I am growing so tired of the negative smack being thrown around describing the teams brass and their decisions. People need to get a grip.........this is one, if not the best organizations in all of sports ! This is a tough off season, but like yourself................I have faith that they will indeed get it right !

I would love to see something like this

1 - WR Justin Hunter / WR DeAndre Hopkins
2 - FS David Amerson / FS Matt Elam
3 - WR Marcus Wheaton / WR Aaron Dobson / WR Ryan Swope / WR Kenny Stills
3 - TE ordan Reed / TE Dion Simms

OLB will not be touched until later if at all ... got to see what Worilds and Carter have ... not to mention if Adrian Robinson can learn to hold his ground against the run , he could get some burn

I'm tired of people wanting to give up on our players so quick

I'm all for a receiver in the first round. I like Keenan Allen. Any thoughts on him?

but if CB Xavier Rhodes would drop to us? Ike more then likely is gone after this year or next. Cortez Allen and Rhodes? Rhodes seems to be what the team likes in his physical play.

Good draft. Like all the positions and the names are great if they're available. would love to see this happen.

Where is the pass rusher in the draft? I cant see us not spending a pick in round 1 or 2 on somebody to play OLB and replace Harrison/Worilds.
