Man, I was worried about this. So glad we signed him. Love Casey, but I was sorely disappointed with McClendon's lack of playing time last season. When he got on the field, he was in the backfield 9/10 and got his hands on the quarterback. Strong hands, beastly mass of a man that could break out. He had a helluva training camp last year so hopefully, he builds on that. Great signing. Expecting big things from this dude in the trenches.

Him and Cortez are what I'm looking forward to most this season. Every year I say I'm looking forward to the running game but, I'm probably gonna be let down again so at least I have these two men to get a hard on over.

Yeah, I said it.....

Wow! I can't believe you said that! Take it back! There is no way you should be looking forward to the running game the most! This is a new NFL! Every NFL score should look like a basketball score! (College basketball let's not get carried away).

Second time the Steelers were backed into the corner. And they had to jump to sign their own player.
What a wierd off-season!

Exactly....The Steelers tried to get off cheap with Sanders and Mclendon.....The Pats and Packers made sure that did not happen.

Problem is Sanders and Mclendon are pretty average NFL players. The Steelers just don't have any replacements.

OK, this is good news. It's a small bit of good news, bobbing around with a few other small bits of good news in a sea of pain, but it's good news.

I just hope he plays that 2 gap NT in the run game and doesn't try to slash thru a gap. I honestly think he could be a better DE in the 3-4. Thinking if Hood isn't retained, it could be Heyward, Ta'amu, McLendon in 2014.

I hope he earns the money. Seems like our young guys show a flash yet shit the bed when given the starting role. I like what we've seen from McClendon and given that Hampton is on his way out (or should be), this is a good signing. We need to go younger on the D line, especially starting Cam Heyward. There is no reason to let a #1 pick rot on the bench. If he truly can't beat out Keisel then we should be looking to get a DE in the FA market, cause Keisel isn't cutting it as it is (as of last year), so we wouldn't be getting any better by replacing him with a guy that couldn't beat him out at the lowest point of his career.

At 6' 4'' and 280 he definitely the build for a more agile NT. For the 3 years he has been on the team and filled in, he has not been too bad. Lets see what happens when he gets more game time this season without big snack coming back.
