If we get a legitimate Running Back and improve our running attack, we can improve our offense and thus open it up to drives on the no-huddle.
I would agree with that, but we had a handful of games where the running game was good and we didn't use it. Ben wanted to do it a lot more even all the way back in 2010 when Mendy was running well yet we didn't. You're definitely correct, I just don't think that's the only reason.

Absolutely top notch comment. I don't even know if his observation was sarcastic or serious, it's actually funny any way you look at it!

Ben is pretty good at no huddle - when he's healthy and not being emo about staff changes. The team would do well to look at Haley and Ben's offense from the first half of last season - the attack was lean, mean and efficient and had Ben not been injured, he might have had a career season.

In retrospect, Ben's injury was actually more than a little ironic...since, you know, the changes made in last year's offense were - at least in theory - supposed to protect the QB! Oh well, here's to hoping the plan works this time. We need Ben.

Wouldn't it be nice to hypnotize the team before the game so that every play was inside the 2 minute warning just before half time. I'm not in favor of the hurry up offence on a consistant basis but it does help throw the other team off balance every now&then.

i agree on the fact we need an everery down back but for this year i think our back should have experience and a lot of leadership qualities! I know Bradshaw is hurt but he has been hurt before and his record speaks for itself! He is exactly what this team needs for this year and maybe even next! Our team is getting younger and younger and to have someone thats been to the dance numerous times would be a huge asset! to the comments that our offense is perfect and not made to score points is obsurd and rediculous! The whole point to having Big Ben and the fastest wide recievers in the league is to score faster and more often! The steelers changed there Old school ways when the Bus left and we went to Fast Willie Parker and we have not looked back! Don't get me wrong we have a strong need for a good every down back but he would no longer be the main Game Plan!!!

I assure you that my comment was absurd and ridiculous.

Yes Roethlisberger did have very fast receivers to throw to. He has always had great receivers in my view. The only years that are exceptions were 2005 (between Burress and Holmes) and next year. No Wallace and potentially no Miller is going to be tough.

The running game will return with the better offensive line play I fully expect. The OL needs to carry the team next year and take some pressure off the passing game.

I would prefer a smaller, more versatile back than the bruisers the Steelers prefer. Typically the larger backs seek contact rather than avoiding it and therefore shorten their careers considerably. The body-type of successful NFL RBs is often 5-10 and 220 pounds.

With our quick play passing scheme I see why not...quick passes and heavy ground and pound should tire the defense out plenty,.that's also another reason why they mostly run the no huddle late in the game when the defense is already running on fumes. plus Ben seems better running no huddle, It makes sense.
My only doubt about running the no huddle offense is that Ben will be limited with his play selections. He probably has 10-15 plays he can run before he starts recycling. And becomes predictable. Everyone knows it's limited quantity that's why it ain't run more than once or twice a game.
