Default steelers difference maker

anyone see this spot on sportscenter about willie parker? he is definitely the coolest cat on the team. they were talking about his newfound ability to wait for plays to develop and to hit the holes. cowher was talking about his patience. i guess this all goes hand in hand with him being announced to have goal line duties. i think the confidence the steelers are showing in his capabilities will do wonders for his career and possibly turn him into another steelers star. any back can get hurt. if willie doesnt i think he will show why the steelers didnt bother with lendale white.

ben earned his right to throw, troy earned his right to roam, and now willie has earned his right to run. i couldnt be happier for the dude, not only for his opportunity but to get some national pub to boot.

To be honest with you I'm not sold on him being a goal line back. I love everything else he brings to the table but that. I have a feeling he is just too small to be a good RB when we need short yardage. Being on the goal line takes away his speed.

I'm hoping to see a major change in his timing and patience this year. After his first year starting and getting a season under his belt while learning from one of the best I have all the confidence in the world in Fast Willie.

i'll have to see willie fail before i dont believe in him. it seems hes shown more than duce, verron, and cedric. cowher knows his goal line backs and so does d. hoak.

maybe this is a shot in the dark, and blind faith in willie. there were those who werent sold on ben being able to lead the offense and actually throw the ball either. in the meantime ben is given more options and running the no huddle now.

If you have to see him fail then it is blind faith. Willie has shown nothing when it comes to short yardage thus the reason he hasn't failed. What does Ben have to do with this?

Just caught it Tony. I'm going nuts. We are not deep at RB but that Willie report gives me chills.

I think he would do ok on short yardage. He can get through some cracks... sometimes he will be able to bounce thingso outside as well if nothing open. I know evne Bettis got stopped some on goal line and short yardage from time to time. I think Willie will be alright, but i kinda like having that bigger back knockin people over. I guess having Bettis all these years and seeing him be so good at it just got me spoiled !!

I duno, not that I dont like Willie I guess Im just not sold on him. Good character, good speed but can he do it again this year when the defenses will have a better understanding on how to stop him. I guess having a HOFer behind him just made me feel better but I hope he turns into a bonafide stud just like Bettis. Only time will tell.

Willie can do something at the goal line that our recent backs could not...and that's go over the top....

We are so used to our backs bulling their way in...I picture Willie soaring in...

Last night I was watching the espn special on the Steelers run for the Superbowl...(again!!! ) I love the part where willie walks up to the bus and says.."thank you..You made me what I am..its not much. But I owe it all to you"

I love Parker and hope he has a killer year...
