But - if you basically won't even consider an additional role for Fast Willie before even seeing what he can do in goal line situations, aren't you being a bit premature in your opinion? I much prefer to give the guy a chance. If Cowher and Hoak feel he can do it, and if Willie feels HE can do it, that's a-OK with me. Besides, he has Kreider blocking for him, who is the best blocking FB in the NFL, imo.

I think Tony was just making a comparison in situations, i.e. like The Little Engine That Could. (I like Major Payne's version of that story a lot better - LOL!)

I'm thinking that Bettis' success in goal line situations was just as dependent on how quick his first two steps were as much as anything else; he could pick a hole before it developed and be there when it did. If Parker can do that, momentum will do the rest, and what he gives up in size he will gain back in the ability to bounce off a closed hole and go around the outside.
