Exactly, dude. These "experts" and pundits seem to think that our offense is broken without an alligator-arming overhype wearing a #17 jersey. We won Superbowls with the likes of Cedric Wilson and Nate Washington.

If the Steelers' 2013 season is a failure-- it won't be because we don't have Mike Wallace. Losing Heath Miller for half the season is ten times the loss that Wallace is. THAT is the only concern I have about our offense going into this next year.

And our O-line stays healthy and thus gels and zone blocks like Mofos for The Bell !!! Thus keeping Ben upright and effective !!

sounds like the two rules of marriage:

Rule 1) your wife is always right.

Rule 2) if your wife is wrong, see Rule 1.

what are you all smoking?

they have to be at least as good as the New England Tom Bradys or the Denver Mannings, forget all the other factors

Marty ball

Derp

In all seriousness, I see 8-8 to 11-5, depending on health and capability of O-line, along with Ben's health, buy-in from the rookies and all the young guys, some new leaders stepping up and general ATTITUDE. Oh yea, there's a couple guys that should be playing for their Steelers career (you know who I'm talking about)

I think it's a little too early in the season to answer this question, you know, like before it's even started. Any assessment would just be spit-balling hyperbole at this point, but I will say: this year we won't have a #1 or #2 starter at WR who plays half-assed, so that's at least 1 step in the right direction.

Nate wasn't exactly what one would consider slow. Pretty much we used him as our stretch player, and he did that well. It opened a lot of room for underneath routes for Ward, Miller and El, and not too much different than Wallace did for Holmes, Wallace, Ward and Miller in 2008. As much as we loved the Ben to Holmes plays on their last drive in XLIII, there was a reason Holmes had so much room, and it was wearing #17.

That said, Wheaton should be able to produce at least as well as Nate Wasington in that roll, and may turn out to be a better overall receiver like Holmes, than Wallace, minus the drama.

To the point of the thread, as the OL goes, so does the O. It's a young bunch, and heaven help us if anybody gets hurt, but give them time. They have the potential to become the premier OL in the league. JMO.
