Default What did your grandparent do that's cooler than you?

Stole this from FB. My maternal grandfather was a railroad cop before the war dressed like old west Marshall

My mamma started smoking at age 9. Not that I "like" smoking, but man alive!... she was a rebel.

My mamma raised five children, on her own (after my grandfather died of TB). She went from house-wife to starting her own business, and never went on welfare. She sent four of her five children to college, and the oldest was in the Army (i.e. they all ended up successful). All of this, with only a sixth grade education.

My mamma's cough medicine was a bottle of whiskey.

My grandmother used to warm up whiskey on the stove and drop it in my ear when I had an earache and plug it with a cotton ball as a kid. Shit worked, but it may explain why I drink too much.

Country medicine/grandma medicine is the best.

Squeeze a lemon on his eyeball, and wrap his head in whiskey-soaked gauze for three hours... followed by a warm bath.

But Mamma, I have an ingrown toenail.

Do as I say, youngin'. Now, fetch me thar bottle of whiskey.

How horrible that your grandfather was a speciesist.

Kidding. I always wondered how cool it would be to own a monkey.
