I'm sick of treating those different than me with respect as well.

IMO there is a little bit more going on with Paula Deen than thinking the terms "house" and "plantation" are interchangeable - she always played herself as a Southern stereotype and got that stereotype turned back on her

Her attorneys screwed up by not telling her to settle the case before the attorney for the plaintiff (who is from Atlanta and has a rep as a very aggressive litigator) launched the PR offensive and got the deposition testimony out - cheaper to pay the $$ and sign a confidentiality agreement - as far as standing on principle that can get very expensive if there are any skeletons in your closet (which her attorneys should have known were there)

As far as the nation's "gay or race ass hump" infatuation if you do not like what is on the teevee you always can change the channel

Paula Deen is a racist and a fraud. Almost everything about her is fake from her hair, to her eyelashes, to her drawly drawl. I never did like her. Her schtick got old fast.

First there was the controversy she caused by encouraging people to cook/bake fatty/buttery foods despite the fact that she has diabetes, and now this.

I will be boycotting all of her endeavors.

WalMart severs ties with Deen afraid she would use a racial slur about the undocumented workers they lock up in the back at night.

Well, you all sit there and think this is an isolated situation, it isnt. Everything bleeds into everything else. All these social issues keep piling on and the sport is being effected. I can go on with details but this isnt suppose to that serious. All these social issues are a giant scam, agenda driven, jerk off. If I want to watch this garbage, I'll turn on CNN. Sports is the get away activity. All these hypocrites always spew that shit when there is a tragedy. Well then, this stands the same way. Everywhere I go, all I have to hear about is the President is a commy, gays want this, this idiot wants that. I dont give a shit. Anyone who thinks they have "rights", well, good job, enjoy that fairy tale. Sports is suppose to be the get away and enjoyment of competition where true talent is rewarded. It's the last outlet we have for true talent. Music aint it anymore, movies are garbage. Leave sports the eff alone please.

I have not watched ESPN today but I assume they were not running stories on Paula Deen or the Supreme Court causing the 4th hour of the Today show to be pre-empted this morning because the gays filed a lawsuit and are not willing to accept the fact that being discriminated against is just the way it is going to be

As far as ESPN covering Hernandez, it seems to be a sports related story when a NFL Top 100 player is charged with a gangland style murder just as it was story when Ben was under investigation for Milledgeville, if only to show how much folks will put up with from athletes having "true talent" until they go completely off the rails

Caesar's Palace dumped her too

Caesars operates Paula Deen-themed restaurants at four of its casinos: Horseshoe Southern Indiana, Harrah's Tunica in Mississippi, Harrah's Joliet in Illinois and Harrah's Cherokee in North Carolina.

"While we appreciate Paula's sincere apologies for statements she made in her past ... we have mutually decided that it is in the best interests of both parties to part ways at this time," said Jan Jones Blackhurst, executive vice president of communications and government affairs for Caesars Entertainment.

Paula Deen in happier times.

WalMart and Caesar's Palace - yikes!

Compared to the rough crowd Paula Deen hung with, Aaron Hernandez was partying with the Boy Scouts
