Batiste is a turnstile. He'll be nothing more than a camp body.

Somebody please tell the Steelers that I'm still available. If they need another guy on the roster that can't play, it may as well be me.

Reports are that the front office has shown interest in this guy and are currently scouting him. He shows good hands, gives a veteran presence, is experienced at slowing down the rush, and good with the community. His downsides are that he lacks speed and footwork, is only a part-timer, and is about the same age as Charlie Batch.

I still think he'd be an upgrade over Whimper or Batiste.

Thanks. Makes sense why we signed him. My hopes aren't too high he will contribute, but we shall see. Give the man an opportunity to see what he is made of.

I'm sure we'll be signing one or two cast-offs or practice squad guys from another team soon enough. These guys will more than likely just be camp fodder.

Probably. Usually teams aren't serious about players unless they are drafted. I see it the same way for the Steelers. They are doing just what you said.

That said, we are talking about a team that kept Jonathan Scott, Sean Mahan, Tony Hills, and Justin Hartwig around longer than they should have.

Another veteran camp body. I doubt he makes the 53, but will be a guy that knows the playbook in the hopefully unlikely event that we are hit by injuries and they need to phone him to get off the couch.

Face it. Gilbert, Adams, Beachum and probably Whimper are the 4 OT's that will make the 53.
