Honestly now yes. With a taamu/ mcclendon rotatiin at nose tackle. It will keep those guys fresh. Hell id put woods in over heyward right now. Was really impressed. Hopefully he shines more next game.

woods does look good when they put him in there. He honestly seems better suited to be a 3-4 DE.

Al Woods, Ta'amu and Jones were all players I watched closely. Woods was one of my X-factor players that I would love to see good things from so it was great to see him have such a dominating game. I've been harsh on Ta'amu, but I saw the big man get some heavy penetration up the middle on many occasions. Our backup d-line, linebackers had a helluva game.

We'll know after a couple more games. If Woods keeps outplaying these guys, he deserves to start.

Unfortunately it won't happen. I think our starters will be Hood McClendon and the beard.

I liked Ta'amu's penetration, but he also got moved out of the A gap a coupla times. He needs to be a little more disciplined. I hope they coach him up. He's a huge dude.

We have enough talent to rotate those guys often now, which is something Keisel mentioned in an interview a few weeks back. I'm not sure if Woods and TaAmu would look as good against starting O lineman though. I think they should at least get a chance to go up against a 1st team offense in the preseason. I liked what I seen from our starting D line against the run, but Woods and TaAmu were blowing up the run and getting QB pressure. They were driving guys into the backfield on a regular basis. Let's see what they can do against starters. I'm confident in McClendon and Keisel (not as much in Hood), but if Woods and TaAmu can do that to starters then they need to be on the field. It was the most dominant the D line has looked in some time. I like that everybody (except Keisel) is on the larger side of what defensive lineman usually are. They all looked 300+.

We don't really have a "Nose Tackle" anymore. Ta'amu, Woods and McLendon are all built like 3-4 DEs.

Woods is a DE so that's fine. I agree that McClendon does look more like a DE, but not with Ta Amu. I've heard a few others here say that and I just don't see how he could be more suited for DE. He's 350lbs and he's about 4 feet wide!!! He played NT very well, but I don't see the coaches giving him a chance to start over McClendon this year.
