Default THE most important thing, mission accomplished

No major injuries. That is my #1 priority in these preseason games. And 1 down, no major injuries. What a relief.

Other points.

- Disappointed no Bell. Been waiting to get a look at him forever. But, better safe than sorry. He will be in there next week.

- Adams looked OK, DeCastro and Pouncy looked great. Gilbert looked like crap. Switch him out with Beachum before he gets someone hurt.

- Ben is thinner now, but will add weight once the season starts. Why do I mention this? Just because I am predicting it.

- We are more than OK at WR. So glad Wallace is gone. These fellas will get the job done. Woods and Brown are looking solid as hell, and Wheaton is going to be very good.

- O line did some good rush blocking. Pass, well, need to work on it.

- I am telling you, Woods deserves playing time. Our DL actually looks deep.

- One guy with 3 names looks great. The other looks horrible.

- Landry Jones has a nice release. He throws a pretty good ball. He has a shot at becoming decent. I also think BG can be a solid #2. A way better QB back up situation than last year. WTF were they thinking last year, going with Batch and Leftwich? Seriously. Did they get drunk before they made the QB decisions?

- Jarvis Jones showed he just makes plays. He looked a little shaky at times, but if there is a fumble, he will land on it; he just has the knack. I think he will be very good.

- How about the LB from FSU? I think he's a keeper. Nice job for a 6th-round pick. He will help ease the pain of losing Spence.

- I thought safeties were supposed to be the last line of defense, yet Troy and Clark let Cruz run right by them on that long TD. Oh, and Gay was who initially got beat. Big surprise there.

- Can we quit wasting carries on Batch? He isn't a legit NFL back. Stop the madness. Why weren't some others give some carries like McNeal? Why do they keep wasting carries on Batch? Everyone else can see he doesn't cut it except for the coaching staff. What in the F is wrong with them?

- Troy still doesn't look right to me. He made a few whiffs where he just looked bad. $10,000,000 for a guy who makes whiffs? The Steelers are slow to react to when once-star players are no longer. Maybe it's from having a 90-year-old DC.

- IF we keep the OL healthy and bench Gilbert, we are going to be just fine.

- This game gave me little to worry about. I am surprised anyone has falling skies issues.

That Cruz TD was mainly gays fault. Plus the S tripped over each other.

How does Troy; who was in for 2 series suddenly give you such a big observation about his contract?

IT'S TROY DAMN IT!

I gotta agree with Da Pimp. My buddies and I have a drinking game where we have to take a shot every time Troy whiffs a tackle. I had to call for a ride on several occasions.

Agree with almost everything except the opinion on Troy. Besides the one missed tackle, he looked great IMO. Depth at DL and LB looks surprisingly good, just a little concerned about the depth at CB and OL.

I want to see more of Shamarko and less of Cromartie-Smith. Really liking Golden.

You haven't been a member at Steelers Fever long enough. The start of the season is like turning off a light switch in a seedy NYC apartment. The horde of cockroaches come out to play.

Yep. "Big Play William Gay" (for the other team) is back and better than ever (for the other team).

One sure-fire way Troy can get more pics is to just run over to that side of the field where Gay is standing. Flacco, among others, systematically pics that dude apart every time we play them; where-ever theirs the Gay, throw that way.

Think we got a lot of new site members when another site closed down for maintenance and from that 'beheading thread' that was posted a few months ago

Gradkowski looked better than I imagined but other than that the steelers just didn't look prepared for this game
