DirecTV is paying more for Sunday Ticket than CBS is for the AFC rights, so the NFL is not going to compete with the Ticket on that

If you call DirecTV and claim you do not have a clear line of sight from your residence for the dish to receive the satellite signals they apparently are required to cut you a deal for the online only feed of Sunday Ticket - you might want to try that

Good luck - DirecTV negotiates virtually anything - the rights are paid for and any additional payments they get are pure profit

Thanks AD. There just happens to be seemingly 500 ft tall trees around my crib that blocks my SouthWest view of the sky, will see what happens...

Those damn trees sure can grow up suddenly to block the line of sight to the satellite

Hope it works out

Mostly I was being snarky as I find it amusing that some react SO passionately to games that don't matter.

Steelers MANIA seems more apt than 'fever'. Those infected attempt to overcome a 'fever'.

Can't wait until the REAL season begins!

and most of our fans can't wait until the pre season begins. You do realize the Pirates have completely sucked for the past 20 years right? There are still fans waiting for the inevitable collapse.I am NOT one and have been watching the Pirates everyday. Preseason football does not interfere with that. There are a hundred and sixty two games in baseball and only 20 in football. So that kinda tells me which ones are meaningless

We don't get much in the way of Pirates games out west so I lost interest in them years ago because they sucked. I am following them this year a little but Steelers are BY FAR my #1 interest. Baseball is pretty boring to me these days. Teams buy championships way too much. Roberto Clemente is still by far my favorite Pirate ever.

My gosh, not another one of you Pirates vs. Steelers trolls. You do know it's possible to support both teams at once, right?

Although the games don't matter, most of us are interested in assessing the latest group of draftees or monitoring the progress of younger players or those returning from injuries.
To me, that's the appeal of pre-season.

Also, "what is baseball?"

The best was when a friend was taunting me about the Giants touchdown and safety-I thought it was cute.
